BALSAM FIR

To appreciate Balsam Fir fully, watch this fantastic short video on the process of cutting, transporting and distilling the balsam fir...

This beautifully fragrant oil has been used for years in folk medicine for its supportive properties of the circulatory and respiratory systems and used to aid tired and sore muscles.

The pine scent is very grounding and relaxing and has been found to have an uplifting effect. It is stimulating to the mind, relaxing to the body.

Balsam fir looks much like a beautiful conifer tree or Christmas tree. At Young Living's balsam fir winter harvest in northern Idaho, the entire tree is cut and delicately distilled. Gary Young personallyselects the trees and oversees the entire harvest and distillation process. During the past few harvest seasons, Gary has also invited Young Living members to participate in this unique event.

BELIEVE™ (Tina's favorite blend)

Believe Essential Oil BlendBelieve™ is an uplifting blend of Idaho Balsam Fir, rosewood and frankincense. The fragrance is very beautiful.

It has a steadying, balancing effect on emotions, helping you to overcome feelings of despair and move beyond them to a higher level of awareness.

It helps release the unlimited potential everyone possesses, making it possible to experience health, happiness, and vitality more fully.

Believe can also provide feelings of strength and faith.

I love using this mixed into vegetable oil for an uplifting, pain relieving massage.
Look at your notes on the benefits of frankincense oil and balsam fir to be reminded of the therapeutic value of those oils.

These oils are great for scar tissue, preventing scarring and pain.

They are also great for meditation and opening the upper spiritual energy centers.

Both oils have been studied for their anti-tumor properties making it a good choice for use as a deodorant and self-massage on the breasts.

I often inhale Believe or Balsam Fir throughout the day for a little pick-me-up.

It opens my breathing, grounds me and reminds me to stay present. That always gives me more energy!

Eucalyptus Oil

Which Eucalyptus Essential Oil is Best?

With such a large selection of great eucalyptus products offered by Young Living, it can be confusing to know which one is best for you. But once you understand more about the unique properties of each eucalyptus essential oil, you’ll have no problem picking one that fits your specific needs.

Let’s start with a brief history lesson: globulus

For centuries, native Australian aborigines traditionally used eucalyptus for body pains, sinus congestion, fever, and colds. It wasn’t until the mid 1800s that English doctors started experimenting with the oil and shared it with the rest of the world. Not surprisingly, most eucalyptus species are found in Australia. Have you heard of the famous “blue mists” in Australia? It happens because the eucalyptus sap exudes from the trees and wisps into the air, creating a hazy blue mist seen for miles around. Historically, it is said the blue mist keeps down fevers in nearby communities. A recent study might suggest that is wasn’t the eucalyptus that took down the fever, but inhibited the fever-carrying mosquitoes in the area. Now that’s what I call an essential oil diffuser!

radiataSo what makes eucalyptus essential oil work?

Each eucalyptus species has its own unique combination of naturally-occurring plant chemicals, which are what produce an effect on the body. One of the major active ingredient in most eucalyptus species is eucalyptol (also called 1,8 cineole). Scientists are only beginning to validate the many positive effects of this constituent. In one study using rats, researchers saw significant anti-inflammatory effects in the gut in rats. Another laboratory experiment looked at the reduction effects of eucalyptus essential oils on specific respiratory pathogens.

Of the five eucalyptus essential oils Young Living offers, the most popular are Eucalyptus globulus and Eucalyptus radiata.Polybractea These two oils smell most like traditional eucalyptus oils (kind of like the vapor rub my mom lathered on my chest when I was kid). These oils also have a high percentage of 1,8 cineole: E. globulus has up to 80 percent eucalyptol and E. radiata can contain up to 75 percent of that active ingredient.

When speaking about eucalyptus options, I always suggest Eucalyptus polybractea as well. E. polybactea has high levels of 1,8 cineole and has the comforting medicinal scent one might expect from a eucalyptus product. It also is low in a compound called isovaleric aldehyde, which can irritate mucus membranes.

Interestingly, Eucalyptus dives has large amounts of eucalyptol and also high amounts of piperitone, which gives it a slight divespepperminty and citrus scent. E. dives is excellent for use in a Young Living diffuser to purify the air. E. dives is considered the strongest of the eucalyptus species and generally should not be applied to those with skin sensitivities.

Lastly, Gary Young rediscovered a eucalyptus species in Ecuador he named Eucalyptus Blue™. Eucalyptus Blue has significant amounts of eucalyptol plus high levels of alpha pinene.  In fact, because of its levels of alpha-pinene, Eucalyptus Blue can be considered a natural R.C. blend. So, if you are looking for an R.C. alternative, Eucalyptus Blue is a great choice.

eblueEucalyptus Blue is my favorite eucalyptus because of its deep, warm aroma. I also like it because it doesn’t make my eyes water as much as some of the other eucalyptus oils (think of when you get peppermint close to your eyes).
As general guidelines, Eucalyptus globulus and E. dives are best applied topically or on the reflex points of the feet while Eucalyptus radiataE. polybractea, and Eucalyptus Blue are more suitable for diffusing and inhalation.

If you still can’t decide which eucalyptus to try, a great place to start is with Breathe Again™ Essential Oil Roll-On. This convenient product has a powerful punch of four eucalyptus essential oils (including Eucalyptus Blue)—perfect for supporting respiratory health and invigorating the senses.  I love the scent and the effectiveness.

Frankincense Oil

FrankincenseFrankincense is one of the oldest essential oils and is used primarily in meditation to improve one's inner balance.

Frankincense, Boswellia carteri, is also known as "olibanum," or "oil from Lebanon."

Considered the "holy anointing oil" in the Middle East, Frankincense has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. It was well known during the time of Christ and was one of the gifts given to Christ at his birth.

In ancient times Frankincense was said to "cure everything from gout to a broken head." The Chinese used frankincense as a treatment for a range of ailments.

Today, frankincense is still used worldwide for both its ceremonial and medicinal use.

It is being studied for its anti-cancer properties and ability to reduce tumors.

Medical News

Frankincense Oil -- A Wise Man's Remedy For Bladder Cancer

A Virginia Tech scientist says frankincense oil might be useful in treating malignant melanoma -- an aggressive cancer that attacks humans and equines.

Did You Know?

Frankincense is mentioned in one of the oldest known medical records, Ebers Papyrus, dating from the sixteenth century B.C., and ancient Egyptians listed the oil on hundreds of prescriptions and recipes.

Frankincense was valued more than gold during ancient times and only those with great wealth and abundance possessed it.

Frankincense trees grow without soil out of polished marble rocks. Deep cuts are made along the tree and the yellow milk-like juice that flows out soon hardens. The frankincense globules are scraped off and distilled for the essential oil. The season for gathering lasts from May until September.

Primary Benefits

Young Living's therapeutic grade Frankincense oil can:

• ease many minor aches and pains
• help relieve sciatica pain
• clear congested lungs
• relieve sore throat
• act as a skin tonic & repair skin damage
• calm and soothe the whole body
• elevate the mind and emotions
• reduce or prevent scar tissue
• help heal wounds

Its sweet, warm, balsamic aroma is stimulating and elevating.

Useful for visualizing and improving one's spiritual connection, frankincense has comforting properties that help center the mind and overcome stress and despair.

Frankincense also contains sesquiterpenes which stimulate the limbic system of the brain—the center of memory and emotions—and the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary glands.

How To Use

Frankincense can be used topically, as a dietary supplement, or diffused with a cool air diffuser.

Physical application
Apply a few drops directly to the area of concern to help relieve pain, reduce scarring, help stimulate nerve function.

Spiritual/emotional application
Massage 1 drop of frankincense into the brain points to relax, stimulate and open the mind and spiritual connection.

The brain points are:
• The brain stem (base of the skull where head & neck meet)
• The temples
• The 3rd eye between the eyebrows
• The crown of the head (top center)
• The mastoid bone (behind the ear lobe).

After rubbing oil into all brain points cup hands over nose and inhale the oil deeply for at least 1 minute.

Diffuse
Using a cool air diffuser frankincense can be used for congestion and voice loss, as well as to calm the mind, reduce mental strain, cultivate internal peace, and place past obsessive states into perspective.

Blend with massage oil or in the bath

Frankincense can be blended with massage oil or diluted in the bath for circulatory support, respiratory support, exhaustion, and nightmares.

For massage
Mix about 10 drops of frankincense into 2 oz. of unscented massage oil like V-6 mixing oil or a good cold pressed oil that you'd use for cooking/eating like grapeseed, canola, apricot kernel, almond oil.
Massage entire body or areas of concern.

Skin & Beauty
It also has a good astringent effect on the skin;
perks up older, more mature skin; and may assist
the body in healing itself of wounds, sores, and ulcers.

Creams and Lotions
Frankincense can be added to a base cream or lotion to help with general skin tone and condition while reducing oily skin, rejuvenating more mature skin, and at the same time helping wounds, ulcers, and sores heal.

*see below for skin care products and oil blends that already contain frankincense oil.

Wash or use as a compress
To assist the body in healing and to lessen the appearance of scars from wounds, add a few drops of frankincense to the water when washing a wound. For other applications, apply a few drops of oil directly onto a scar and gently massage on and around it.

Where Does Young Living Get Its Frankincense Essential Oil?

Lavender

lavender essential oilLavender is the universal healing oil

Lavender is one essential oil that can be used in every home, and this month it's all about rediscovering its many uses! Young Living's lavender is a safe, natural alternative to many store-bought products, and once you begin using it around the house you'll wonder how you ever survived without it.

One of the first natural remedies to be reintroduced to Western culture, today lavender is used for everything from calming the mind to soothing irritated skin. Here are a few quick and easy ways to incorporate its benefits into your daily routine:

Relaxation

• Massage 3-5 drops of lavender into the back of the neck or bottom of the feet for relaxation.
• Add a few drops of lavender oil to a cup of epsome salts to your bath water for a relaxing soak.
• Mix 10-20 drops of Lavender oil with 4oz of V-6 mixing oil in a squirt bottle for a full body massage oil. Great for sore muscles!
• Diffuse lavender before bed to quiet the mind and prepare for sleep. Always use a cool air diffuser to retain the theraputic values of this high grade lavender oil. Diffusers available at www.oilsheal.com  listed under accessories.

Staying well

• Sore throat relief; mix 1 drop of lavender in salt & warm water and gargle
• Use your lavender massage oil on the chest and back to calm a cough due to a cold or flu.
• Massage into strains and sprains for muscle relief
• Headache; Rub a little lavender (and/or peppermint) into the hairline on the head, crown of head. Then rub your hands together and inhale deeply for a few minutes to open the sinuses and stimulate your brain.

Skincare

• Soothe minor burns by applying 2–3 drops directly to the affected area.
• Rub several drops onto the scalp area to help soothe minor irritations.
• Reduce or minimize scar tissue by massaging it on or around affected areas.
• Apply 2–3 drops to relieve itching and soothe skin.

When in doubt use Lavender

You may have seen other lavender-like products that promise the same benefits as true lavender essential oil. However, these synthetic products merely duplicate the aroma of lavender, and cannot offer the health-enhancing benefits of Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ lavender and they will not be safe to apply directly to burns.

Young Living offers a full line of safe, effective skincare products, each an ideal alternative to the perfume-grade lavender found elsewhere:

• Lavender Volumizing Shampoo
• Lavender Volumizing Conditioner
• Lavender Rosewood Bar Soap
• LavaDerm Cooling Mist
• Lavender Hand & Body Lotion
• Lavender Lip Balm
• Lavender Bath & Shower Gel
• Lavender foaming hand soap

  • Peace & Calming can be deeply effective in helping to calm the nervous system, relax the body and quite the mind.

  • In my bodywork practice I use it with clients who literally need to feel peaceful and calm and unwind from daily stresses both big and small.

  • For myself I use it to help me get to sleep at night or to get back to sleep if I wake up during the night and can't get back to sleep.

  • It can help relax muscle spasms & is particularly good for those with chronic muscular disorders that cause muscles to be overly tight or spastic.

It will have an effect as they inhale the aroma that is on you.

  • Peace and Calming is one of the "go to" oils for anxiety & worry & for quieting the mind.

How to use:

For relaxation, massage a few drops into the soles of the feet either 'neat' or mixed with unscented lotion. Use lotion that does not contain mineral oil or petroleum products.

Rub a few drops into your pulse points (wrists, neck) and to the sternum (breast bone).

Inhale oil deeply from the palms of your hands or diffuse with diffuser.

Have Peace & Calming in your bedside diffuser to help you fall asleep or get back to sleep if you wake during the night.

Add a few drops to an unscented body wash for a fragrant shower.

Add a few drops to V-6 mixing oil or other massage oil base and use to massage tight muscles.

Use for anxiety, stage freight, and nervous tension – inhale, apply anywhere you feel that it should go.  Apply to the solar plexus/diaphragm area, use in a foot massage application or during meditation.

Can be helpful for those who are taking or who have just stopped taking medications that cause them to feel jittery or anxious.  Use the applications listed above.

Helpful for calming fears during the time leading up to surgery or medical procedures.

These are just some of the many uses for Peace & Calming. Let me know how you like to use Peace & Calming!

Peppermint Oil

peppermint essential oilDid you know…

The term "mint" is from the Greek name Mintha, a mythological nymph who was transformed into a plant by the angry goddess Persephone after she learned of her husband Pluto's love for her.

The Peppermint Story

Peppermint is native to Europe and is a hybrid of the wintergreen and spearmint plants.

Growing to approximately two feet tall, peppermint plants bloom from July through August, sprouting tiny purple flowers in whorls and terminal spikes.

Simple, toothed, and fragrant leaves grow opposite the flowers.

Preparations for extracting peppermint essential oil begin with the leaves and flowering tops of the plant, where menthol — peppermint's primary active component — is extracted.

Primary Benefits

One of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion, peppermint may also restore digestive efficiency.

Jean Valnet MD studied peppermint's supportive effect on the liver and respiratory systems.
Dr. William N. Dember of the University of Cincinnati studied peppermint's ability to improve concentration and mental acuity.
Alan Hirsch, MD studied peppermint's ability to directly affect the brain's satiety center, which triggers a sensation of fullness after meals.
Other scientists have also researched peppermint's role in improving taste and smell when inhaled.

How to Use

• To soothe digestion and help relieve gas, heartburn, nausea & stomach upset; sip a drop of peppermint essential oil in a glass of water or herbal tea.

• To soothe digestion and help relieve gas, heartburn, nausea & stomach upset; sip a drop of peppermint essential oil in a glass of water or herbal tea.

• To stop itching from bug bites and other causes; apply a drop topically on unbroken skin.

• For poison ivy or poison oak, apply peppermint essential oil on location or dilute with V-6™ Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex.

• Inhale peppermint essential oil before and during a workout to boost your energy.

• Place one drop on the tongue and under the nose to improve alertness and concentration.

• Rub four drops on chest and stomach to relieve travel sickness.

• Add peppermint to recipes as a food flavoring, i.e. add 4-5 drops to a brownie mix for chocolate peppermint brownies!

• Mix one 15 ml bottle of peppermint essential oil into a five gallon can of paint to dispel the fumes.

• Massage a few drops into the soles of the feet and along the spine to help reduce
fever or other heat conditions.

Peppermint is a great pain relieving oil and can be used to help pain from...

Headache: place 1 drop in the palm of your hand and rub a portion of that drop along the hairline, top of head, temples and forehead (be careful to avoid the eyes).

Sinus Congestion: place 1 drop in the palm of your hand and cup your hands over you nose.  Inhale deeply for several minutes.

Sprains, Strains and Sciatica pain: mix a few drops of peppermint into some V-6 mixing oil or good quality massage oil and massage into the area of pain.  Repeat every 2-3 hours.

Safety precautions

Peppermint oil is very concentrated:

• If using on a baby or small child be sure to keep away from face and dilute 1 drop in a spoonful of vegetable oil (not water!).
• Never put oils in the ears or eyes. Avoid rubbing your eyes if you have peppermint on your hands.
•  With peppermint, less is more.
• If it feels either too hot or cold on the skin apply some vegetable oil or lavender oil on top of that.

Peppermint Protocol

Wake-up, Brain Opening, Energizing, Jet-lag

1. Put 1 drop of peppermint oil in the palm of your hand.
2. Take a small amount of that drop on your finger tip and rub it into your brain stem at the base of your skull.
3. Take another bit of that some drop and rub it into the crown of your head (the very top),
4. Rub your hands together with the rest of the peppermint oil that's on your palms and rub your outer ears between your finger tips.
5. Lick the residual of peppermint oil from your hands and inhale deeply.
6. Rub your palms together again and cup hands over nose - inhale deeply for several minutes.
7. Enjoy!

Rose

It is said that the sails of Cleopatra's cedarwood ship were scented with rose water—
"the very winds were lovesick," Shakespeare wrote.

At your next appointment, ask Tina for 'the rose treatment' and you will receive a beautiful face, chest and breast massage with rose oil. It will uplift your mood, illuminate your mind and give your heart & skin a radiant glow.

rose essential oilTreat your skin

I love using Rose Oil to massage the face, chest and breasts. It nourishes skin and uplifts the mood.

Pure Rose essential oil can seem pricey, especially to first time buyers. But, it's very concentrated and just one drop goes a very long way.

Making it last

Fill a small (1-2oz) dark glass bottle with jojoba oil. Add 1-2 drops of rose oil and shake.

Use this mixture to moisturize face and neck and to massage chest, breasts and any areas where you have skin concerns & scars.

It's great for infant massage, too! Since a 5ml bottle of Rose oil has aprox. 85 drops, using it this way will last you a long time.

Rosa Damascena a.k.a. Rose Otto

It takes about 60,000 roses to produce just 1 ounce of oil, and ten thousand pounds of rose blossoms to produce 1 pound of oil.

Rose has a beautiful, floral fragrance. It helps bring balance and harmony and creates a sense of well-being and self-confidence – supporting one in overcoming insecurities.

Besides being used as a medicine in history, the rose has a long history as a costly perfume. Fresh roses were macerated in hot fat to produce fragrant pomades in ancient India, Greece and Egypt. In Egypt these pomades were shaped into cones and placed on the top of the head. As body heat melted the fat, fragrant, rose-scented oil would trickle down the face and neck.

Physical Healing Properties
Anti-inflammatory, Relaxant, Reduces scarring, Anti-ulcer, Wound heaing, Stimulates new healthy cell growth, Antiderpessant, Calmative, Hemostatic (stops bleeding)

Emotional Healing Properties

Applications

• As with most oils, apply Rose as close to the area of concern as possible.
• For depression and emotional upliftment apply a drop of Rose oil to the heart center
• and rub a bit under the nose so it will "follow you around".
• Inhale Rose deeply for several minutes and notice how it affects your brain and mood.
• Apply directly to scars, skin concerns and around wounds.
• Internally, Rose can be used in a vaginal suppository for female concerns.
• Young Living's Rose oil is regardes as safe for internal consumption.
• Add 1 drop to a capsule (optional; fill the rest with olive or vegetable oil)
• Dilute 1-2 drops in jojoba oil and use for self-massage.

Perhaps no flower is more recognizable and no aroma more evocative than that of the rose.

The rose symbolizes innocence, love, passion, sympathy, desire, luxury and the ideal aesthetic.

The healing tradition associated with the rose is no less remarkable than its fragrance and beauty. The 17th-century English physician Culpeper wrote that red roses strengthen the heart. He may have been referring to a physical action, but anyone who has inhaled fresh roses or their essential oil knows the aroma strengthens the heart spiritually and emotionally as well. Culpeper attributed other properties to the rose that foreshadowed its current use in aromatherapy and cosmetics. He recommended extract of rose for its cooling and astringent benefits, useful for headache and tired eyes. He also suggested an ointment of roses…"to cool and heal pushes, wheals and other red pimples rising on the face" . .

Rose oil is used in creams, lotions and soaps for its mild anti-viral and bactericidal properties, as well as for its fragrance. Rose water, recovered from the distillation of rose oil, is mildly astringent and beneficial for cleansing and refreshing dry, sensitive skin.

With the advent of distillation in the 10th century, Persians began extracting rose flower water from fresh roses. Because these early stills were crude and inefficient the amount of essential oil obtained was probably negligible and may have been entirely overlooked. An early reference to rose essential oil is mentioned in a legendary Mogul account of the betrothal of a princess named Nour-Djihan to the Emperor Dhihanguyr. The wedding feast was held in a garden surrounded by a canal filled with rose water. As Nour-Djihan and her lover plied the waters in a small boat she noticed a thin film of rose oil on the surface. It was carefully skimmed off and rose essential oil was born.

The difficulty of extracting rose oil from the plant has always caused it to be a very expensive substance. A rose blossom contains only about 0.02% essential oil. It takes about 60,000 roses to produce just 1 ounce of oil, and ten thousand pounds of rose blossoms to produce 1 pound of oil. The extraction of rose absolute with chemical solvents is more efficient than the steam distillation of the essential oil. Ten pounds of a substance known as concrete can be extracted from 10,000 pounds of roses using this method. The concrete is further refined to produce rose absolute, the yield of which is about 67% from the concrete.

Regardless of its price, the potency and incredible fragrancing power of even tiny amounts of rose otto or absolute makes it a sound investment -- especially considering that a dozen fresh roses costs around $60.00 and it takes about 2 and 1/2 dozen roses to produce a single drop of oil.

rose facialRose and Lavender Facial Cream
In aromatherapy, rose oil inspires emotional calm and stability without sedative effects. The aroma is powerful and comforting. Its physical actions are mildly astringent and balancing. Rose and lavender facial cream is excellent for sensitive combination skin. Dabbed onto a freshly washed face this cream is a fragrant, toning emollient.

Rose is unique among most aromatherapy oils. It's fragrance is perhaps more recognized than its relaxing, soothing and balancing applications in aromatherapy.

One whiff and a vision of the flower itself, or perhaps an experience associated with the flower and its aroma will readily come to mind. The evocative nature of rose delivers tangible benefits in aromatherapy, cosmetic and aesthetic applications. It is an aroma that has endured for centuries and will never go out of style.

SACRED MOUNTAIN™

Sacred Mountain Essential Oil BlendSacred Mountain™ is a beautiful blend of spruce, ylang ylang, balsam fir and cedarwood.

It promotes feelings of strength, empowerment, grounding, and protection that are a result of being close to nature. This blend of conifer essential oils evokes the feelings of sanctity found in the mountains.

Tina's note – I often recommend Sacred Mountain for people needing courage and a feeling of protection i.e. for people with phobias, fear of flying, etc. In such cases it can be very helpful to apply 1 drop of Sacred Mountain on the sternum and tops of the shoulders and envision feeling grounded and protected. Inhale deeply and imagine you are doing the activity that you are fearful of i.e. getting on a plane. Continue this practice weeks before the event if possible and at the time of the event.

Thieves

theives oilsTHIEVES is a blend of highly antiviral, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-infectious oils.

Thieves was created from research of a group of 15th-century thieves who rubbed oils on themselves to avoid contracting the plague while they robbed the bodies of the dead and dying. When apprehended, these thieves disclosed the formula of herbs, spices, and oils they used to protect themselves in exchange for more lenient punishment.

Studies conducted at Weber State University (Ogden, UT) during 1997 demonstrating it's killing power against airborne microorganisms. One analysis showed a 90 percent reduction in the number of gram positive Micrococcus luteus organisms after diffusing for 12 minutes. After 20 minutes of diffusing, the kill-rate jumped to 99.3 percent. Another study against the gram negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa showed a kill rate of 99.96 percent after just 12 minutes of diffusion.

The anti-viral effects of the eugenol from clove oil is excellent for

• herpes
• molds (including deadly black mold)
• fungus and warts
• food poisoning
• fighting bacteria which causes underarm odor

Thieves is easy to use to prevent and treat cold and flu symptoms

• Rub 3-5 drops into the soles of the feet twice daily for prevention
• Repeat every 2-3 hours when sick
• Rub a few drops into your feet and throat before getting on the plane.
• Diffuse at home and office with a cool air diffuser. 15 min. twice daily
• Use it on the throat, chest, along the spine, on your gums
• Dilute 10 drops in with 2 oz. of vegetable oil for body massage
• Put 4-8 drops on cotton ball and place on air vents

While many flu bugs can become resistant to antibiotics they do not develop resistance to essential oils.

Caution:
You might need to dilute this oil when applying it to tender skin like the throat.
To dilute it, mix it with a fatty oil (like organic vegetable oil or V-6 mixing oil from YL)

Young Living Oils for Emotional Wellness

How Aroma Works

Fragrance is present in gases, not in liquid.

The evaporating vapor from the essential oil creates the fragrance.

Fragrance

• Constituents with different chemical structures generate different odors.
• As molecules within a fragrance flash into the air, they stimulate the odor receptors of the olfactory system and other systems.
• Different vapors are received by different nerve endings in the form of an impulse.
• The nerve impulse is then chemically transmitted to the limbic system (where emotional memory is stored).
• The brain sends impulses to different parts of the body, depending on the type of stimuli used and its function.

According to a study published by Thorsons of London in 1993, essential oil molecules interact with the same receptors on nerve cells and in other tissues that respond to drugs (and hormones).
